Nurturing students is fine, but having some tough love does have benefits. The world is not always going to be sunshine and rainbow. The world is tough and if you do not work hard and smart for your dreams, and have ambitions, the world will be tougher. If students keep involving themselves in fights at school, it is a strong possibility that students will end up helpless and relying on the support of someone else instead of their own. Ofcourse, there are other factors or life situations that can cause homelessness such as not getting enough support from family and abandonment, but the discussion is about the things that people can control NOW. Students can lose their sense of independence because they chose the wrong things or focused on the things that do not matter. Education is the most powerful tool to change the world. If students do not focus on their education, the consequences pile up. Students will continuously get suspended and lose out on their education. Students will keep repeating to take the same courses because they failed. Students may not even be able to graduate. Without graduating or having low/failing grades, employers can view that as irresponsible and it will be harder to land a job which will make them helpless.
