Social media platforms should not be a place to show violence, but a place for creativity. It is a place for students to express themselves freely in a positive and appropriate way and a place for adults to disseminate credible information. Adults have the responsibility of being role models and demonstrating that achieving peace starts with the youth and their education. Education can open our minds, be receptive to positivity and a brighter tomorrow.

How can adults help?
How can students and teachers help?

Be an upstander! An upstander is someone who can recognize when something is wrong and takes actions. If an upstander recognizes bullying as an example, they will do something about it like stand up for the other person and tell the bully to stop. Upstanders support and protect their fellow students (NIU, n.d).
